WebP · images for websites
Use WebP when your website or app accepts it. This converter exposes a quality setting; it is not a dedicated lossless-WebP mode. Compare your actual output with JPG at a similar visual quality rather than assuming WebP is always smaller.
- For a website, choose dimensions close to the displayed image size and inspect text, edges and gradients before publishing. Keep a higher-resolution original for other uses.
- Check the destination first: some submission forms, print services and older software do not accept WebP even when a browser can display it. JPG is often the simpler interchange format.
